4 spikes so far. What moved, why, whether we saw it coming (spoiler: no), and what the price did after. Spikes are a report, not a tip.
Spike week Oct 24, 2026 to Oct 31, 2026
$6.30 → $10.20 (+62% that week). Now — (— since).
Why: Rakdos Moonshadow in Modern and Dimir Moonshadow in Legacy both run four copies, and both got better once Dark Matter Manipulator showed up to fill graveyards faster. A one-mana Tarmogoyf in a deck that dumps its library is, shockingly, good.
Did we call it? No. We never flagged it before it moved.
Spike week Oct 24, 2026 to Oct 31, 2026
$2.57 → $3.22 (+25% that week). Now — (— since).
Why: The Ur-Sphinx keeps pulling every sphinx it can find out of the bulk box, including this 2008 eight-drop. One printing, no reprints, so it only takes a few Sphinx deck builders to move it.

Spike week Oct 24, 2026 to Oct 31, 2026
$41.05 → $49.37 (+20% that week). Now — (— since).
Why: Azorius Chant claimed two of the four World Championship invitations handed out at the last three Regional Championships, and the winning lists now run a single Mind Stone main deck to blink Narset or Solitude every turn. One copy per deck sounds harmless until the whole Modern format wants one.

Spike week Oct 16, 2026 to Oct 23, 2026
$1.35 → $7.48 (+454% that week). Now — (— since).
Why: Modern found it. Rakdos Delirium lists (people are calling it Dark Matter Rakdos) started putting up MTGO Challenge finishes with four copies, and a few Legacy Hogaak lists picked it up too. Most of the jump came Oct 17–21.
Did we call it? No. It was #12 on our best-seller list (522 copies sold Oct 13–19), so it was on the site, but we never flagged it as a price pick. Noted.
