Is this a fair price for an MTG card?
A fair price for a Magic card is close to its TCGplayer market price for the exact printing you want. If you're asked up to 10% over market, that's a fair price. 10–30% over is a bit high, and more than 30% over is overpriced. Below market is a good deal.
Search any Magic card, pick the printing and finish, and type what you're being asked.
How to tell a fair price
- Find the exact printing. The same card can be printed in many sets, and each printing has its own price. Pick the set, and pick Normal or Foil.
- Compare to the TCGplayer market price. That's the price this checker uses, not the lowest listing.
- Use the fair-price bands: Below market = under the market price. Fair price = up to 10% over. A bit high = 10–30% over. Overpriced = more than 30% over.
- Check the 30-day trend. Our chart uses TCGplayer's daily English Near Mint prices for the past 30 days, so you can see if today's price is near its monthly high or low.
- Add shipping, and check the condition. Our price is for the card only. Shipping and tax are extra. The "See it on TCGplayer" link opens Near Mint listings.
